Since last Wednesday:

Trading in Danger - Elizabeth Moon - very good; I am going to have to find the next 4 and complete the set.

A Great Deliverance - Elizabeth George -
Payment in Blood - same -
Well Schooled in Murder - same - I am reading George's mysteries with Lynley and Havers. They do not look in the books like they do on the Mystery! series. Decent mystery books; I will end up owning the lot and lending them out, particularly to L.

I'm with you on the superiority of the books to the Mystery adaptation, for Elizabeth George equally with Ellis Peters.

I'm in the kind of funk lately that leads to rereading Dick Francis; some of his stories are about two adjectives from being R rated slash fic.

Julia, in a grumbly mood after an episode of "let's prove just how bad June weather can be"

Me too, concerning the Havers-Lynley mysteries.

They just got better and better, until the inevitable end. I won't tell you about it though.

The layers of character, intersecting with each other's character layers, and with the situation of the books' plots, and the milieu the plots are located in, are some of the most enjoyable novel reading.

Love, C.
